I like this scripture when it comes to talking about us being sons and daughters because it ends with saying, “the Lord Almighty.”

What constitutes a person having good soil? It means they don’t have the other three kinds of soil. In other words, their heart is not hardened; they don’t have what Jesus called wayside soil; their soil is not like a concrete slab. Some people’s soil is that way.

The Word of God is very clear about worry; we are not supposed to worry for any reason. There is nothing that comes to us that we should be in fear, anxiety, or worry about.

What causes people not to receive the promises of God that the Word clearly states belong to us? One of the main things is the contents of our heart.

The pleasures of life are another thing that keep the soil of our heart in a thorny state, or just full of weeds, which choke out the Word of God we have put in our heart.

Affliction is something that Jesus said can get into your heart, your soil, and keep you from seeing the promises of God come to pass in your life.

What is persecution? It is being treated with hostility, especially concerning race, political, or religious beliefs.

Temptation comes to everyone. You will not grow out of this, but you can learn to conquer temptation every time.

Jesus talks about four kinds of soil in the parable of the sower. This parable is found in all the Gospels except John.

The written Word of God that we have is the logos. The Bible, the Word of God, came from God; it came right from His mouth.

I like what The Message says, “Dear friend, listen well to my words; tune your ears to my voice.” In order for a Rhema to come, we have to listen to the logos or the written Word of God.

First, don’t be thrown by the use of the word “law.” You can easily substitute “law” with the “Word of God.” The law is what they had from God, but we have the whole counsel of the Word of God. In order to receive a Rhema from the Word of God, you and I must meditate the Word of God.

One of the most important things that God reveals to us is found in verse 9, “But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

How does faith come? It comes from hearing, and hearing from the Word of God (Romans 10:17). When we read the Word of God, the logos, and mix faith with what is said, we can receive the promises of God.

Is there anyone like God? I love this scripture, and it goes along with Isaiah 44:8, “Fear you not, neither be afraid: have not I told you from that time, and have declared it?

God is a God of mercy and truth, and because of that, our sin has been purged by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
