WHO IS LIKE HIM?
Exodus 15:11 (NIV) Who among the gods is like you, Lord? Who is like you majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?
Is there anyone like God? I love this scripture, and it goes along with Isaiah 44:8, “Fear you not, neither be afraid: have not I told you from that time, and have declared it? You are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any.” There is no other God. He doesn’t know any other like Him, and neither do you. I think a big mistake people make in talking about the devil is they often say that the devil is the opposite of God, and I know what they mean: God is good, and the devil is bad. But bad, in order to be a true opposite of good, means you have to be equal to God and not just opposite. God created the devil, who used to be known as Lucifer before he fell and became the devil. The devil is not opposite or co-equal with God, and he never has been and never will be. When we realize this, the reverence factor for God goes up exponentially. There is not anyone else like Him; He is the Almighty God. There is no one like Him and no one to compare Him to. Wow! And He decided we could call Him Father!
Then our verse goes on to say who He is. He is majestic in holiness. There is none holy besides the Lord. And because of what Jesus did, He made us holy. Wow! We can worship Him in the beauty of His holiness. He is awesome in glory. This causes us to give Him great reverence, honor, and respect. God is glorious, and He has all power. Nothing is impossible for Him. He does wonders. God is known throughout the Word to do signs and wonders. A sign will point us to Him. A wonder causes us to do exactly that, wonder about the magnificence of God.
When you and I think about how big, amazing, and wonderful God is, it will cause us to bow and worship Him, to lift our hands in adoration, and to open our mouth and give Him the glory and the honor He truly deserves. What an awesome God we serve!
