GOD REVEALS
1 Corinthians 2:10 But God has revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.
One of the most important things that God reveals to us is found in verse 9, “But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” The Lord has prepared so much for us. All the promises of God are yes and amen in Christ Jesus. God wants you and I to obtain, to have everything that He has promised us, but they are not automatic. Just because you want or need something, it is not automatic. Just because you are born again and love the Lord very much, His promises are not automatic. The promises have been prepared for you; they are for you, but you must receive them by faith. The first step is hearing what they are. Faith begins where the will of God is known. You get the will of God from the logos, or the written Word, and from God speaking personal things to your heart, the specific will of God that lines up with the written, known will of God for your life.
What do we need? We need revelation, a revealed truth, a Rhema. How do we get a Rhema? We must understand God wants to reveal His Word and, therefore, Himself to us. I love the Ephesians prayer; with this prayer, we can pray for revelation. Ephesians 1:17–18 says, “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened…” We can have wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. What does receiving revelation, or a Rhema, look like?
I think one of the best ways to see what revelation is is when Jesus asked Peter, “Who do men say that I am?” Peter answered and listed the names of who the people might think that Jesus is. Then Jesus asked Peter a question that I believe you should let the Holy Ghost ask you. Jesus said, “But who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” Jesus said, “Flesh and blood did not reveal that to you, but my Father in Heaven.” Peter got something from Heaven that no one on Earth told him. The same can happen for us. I know it has happened to you before. You were reading the written Word of God, and suddenly, you got it; you knew. It was revealed to you. We need more revelation. It comes by reading and studying the Word of God and believing that while we read and study, the Holy Ghost will reveal the Word to us. We can know because the Holy Ghost revealed it to us, so we know we got it!
