THE WORD GREW
Acts 19:20 So mightily grew the Word of God and prevailed.
The Word of God is powerful when it is understood and used. I like what Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” The Word of God always prevails; it always has the upper hand. It never returns to the Lord void. The parable of the sower that Jesus taught says the sower sows the Word. The Word of God is seed, and it must get into the soil of someone’s heart. The seed of the Word of God has what is necessary on the inside of it to produce the promise. Everything needed for healing is contained in the seed of 1 Peter 2:24, but the seed must be put in your heart on a regular basis. There is no farmer who expects a harvest and never plants any seed. You could have the best soil in the world but if no seed goes in, no harvest comes. The more seed you put in your heart, the more you will prevail.
In order for the Word of God to prevail in our lives, we need to treat it with reverence and honor. 1 Thessalonians 2:13 says, “For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because when you received the Word of God which you heard of us, you received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the Word of God, which effectually works also in you that believe.” Jesus was the Word made flesh and dwelt among us. When we reverence the Word, we are reverencing Jesus. There were three in Heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Spirit. Thank God the Word of God came in the form of a human and took our place. This Word is what will prevail. It is not an opinion; it was spoken from the mouth of the Father and recorded by holy men of old who were moved upon by the Holy Ghost. Only the Word of God can effectually work in you. An opinion won’t do. When you and I believe the Word of God, we mix faith with what we hear, what we read which causes the Word of God to produce. It causes the Word of God to grow in our lives, in our community, in our nation, and it causes the Word of God to prevail.
Let’s put this precious seed of the Word of God into the soil of our hearts and let’s see our lives change like never before. God is waiting on each of us to get the Word of God in our hearts, to let it grow and produce a harvest which will cause us to win in every circumstance!
