“By whom” in this scripture makes this an “in Christ” reality, things we have because of who Jesus is and what He has done. We could never get to God on our own.

The verses right before our scripture give us instructions along these lines. Verse 17 says, “Don’t give evil for evil.”

It seems that when we are better listeners and do a lot less sharing of our opinions. we then become slow to wrath.

When we think of being stewards, we usually think of being stewards of finances. The Word tells us in Luke to be faithful with finances, with that which is another mans.

Jesus went on to say more in John Chapters 8 and 12 about being lifted up, which is a reference to Him being crucified on a cross and lifted up from the Earth.

The grace of God is available to stand against the wiles of the devil and will help us keep our flesh under. Grace teaches us something.

Thank God we have freedom from sin, from bad habits, from addictions, and freedom from mental torment and anything else the devil has tried to do to us.

Isaiah 32:17 says, “And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever.”

No one really likes discipline. If you love your child, you will discipline them. We are God’s children, and He loves us, so He disciplines us.

We know from scripture that there are two kinds of wisdom, godly wisdom and earthly wisdom. Wisdom is so important.

God told Joshua the last part of this verse as Joshua went to conquer the promised land.

Let’s start with our part. Our part is not to be ignorant of the devil’s devices. When someone is ignorant of something, they just don’t understand it.

If you must take a fast hold of something, that means that something or someone is trying to get something out of your hands.

Fear not.  How many times does something from God start that way?  A lot!  Why?  As a human being, it is something we deal with constantly in every area of our lives.

Right before this famous verse of scripture, Paul was rehearsing, by the Holy Ghost, some of the tough things he had been through.

Jesus is the light of the world! John 1:4-5 says, “In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

We all know the royal law this scripture is talking about, to love the Lord with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself.

I think, first, we have to position ourselves to help others.  We have all received help, if not from a person, definitely form the Lord, so we should freely give help.

What a wonderful verse!  God is able to keep us from falling.  So, why do people fall?  It says God is able and can do all things, but that means He gives us the power, the authority, and the wisdom necessary to keep from falling. 

Being near to the Lord is very important in walking by faith.  One thing that I am aware of is that people are trying to believe God without much of a close relationship with the Lord.
