IT’S REQUIRED

1 Corinthians 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

When we think of being stewards, we usually think of being stewards of finances. The Word tells us in Luke to be faithful with finances, with that which is another mans. The Lord is watching how we handle money so He can see if we qualify for handling true riches. But I thought Jesus qualified me! I didn’t think I had to qualify for anything anymore because of grace! To think this way would be contrary to these scriptures. In the verse right above this one, Verse 1, the Word tells us that we are stewards of the mysteries of God.

What are the mysteries of God? Christ in you the hope of glory is a mystery revealed in Colossians 1:26-27. The mystery of godliness is revealed in 1 Timothy 3:16 that, basically, Jesus made you godly. The mystery of Christ is revealed in Colossians 2:2-3 to the New Testament believer that in Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. The mystery of the prophecies of Jesus make sense to us of how He fulfilled each one of them, like those in Isaiah (Romans 16:25-27).

Again, revealing the mystery of Christ with the understanding that Gentiles should be made fellow heirs and partakers of the promises in the gospel (Ephesians 3:5-6). The last one I will mention (there are others) is that we should be able to look at marriage as an example of Christ and the church (Ephesians 5:32). These are the mysteries revealed in the New Testament that we are stewards over. We must be faithful so God will reveal to us the meanings of these things and then, the entire Body of Christ is to be sharing these revelations, these mysteries that have been made known to us by the Holy Ghost.

All mysteries should be solved. God has seen to it that all things that were hidden were made known to the church. The ones I mentioned are just a few of the obvious ones in the Epistles that clearly say this was a mystery. To be used of God in sharing these precious truths, He is looking for people who are faithful. God is faithful, for how can two walk together unless they agree! The more faithful we are in every area, the more insights we will have into the mysteries of God. I am so grateful that God’s ways are higher, and His thoughts are higher, and that He has decided to reveal His thought and ways to us. He has decided to show us who He is and the mysteries that were hidden for the church. God doesn’t hide things from you anymore, but He has hidden things for you. What an adventure with God. He is solving all our mysteries!
