DON’T BE IGNORANT
2 Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
Let’s start with our part. Our part is not to be ignorant of the devil’s devices. When someone is ignorant of something, they just don’t understand it. When I was in high school, I took this math class my senior year that I will have to admit I just didn’t understand. When you are ignorant of something, you need help. You need some light from the Holy Ghost because if you stay ignorant in a certain area, it will cost you greatly. It will cause you to make mistakes you could have avoided, cause you to fall into temptations meant to destroy you, and cause you to make big mistakes in your decision-making process. The devil wants you to stay ignorant. The only way I know to get rid of the ignorance in any area is to let the Holy Spirit turn the light on from the Word of God. Let Him bring revelation of who you are in Christ, your dominion and authority, and especially how the devil works against all humanity and how he tries to work against you individually. Always remember that you have the teacher and revealer living on the inside of your born-again spirit.
The devil has many devices. He is a master liar and a master deceiver. If he could deceive Adam and Eve, he can and will try to deceive us. He even tried it on Jesus; that is how confident the devil is that he can deceive us. The devil is a master manipulator; he gives us thoughts and feelings that we think are our own. He has been doing this for centuries and is quite good at it. If we don’t get over our ignorance of the devil’s many devices, then the devil will get advantage over us. But the good news is, the devil can’t if we get an understanding of his devices from the Word of God and through what the Holy Ghost shows us.
The Word says the devil hunts as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. We must make up our minds that he cannot and will not devour us. The way to prevent being devoured by this master hunter is to get understanding and quit being ignorant. My mom had a friend that when someone around her would say something wrong or do something wrong, she would say, “Don’t be ignorant.” As a child, I always loved hearing her say it because everyone else in the room was thinking it, but she said it. Now, I say to me and to you, “Don’t be ignorant”!
