FREEDOM

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.

Thank God we have freedom from sin, from bad habits, from addictions, and freedom from mental torment and anything else the devil has tried to do to us.  How does freedom come?  It comes through salvation.  That is the only way that true freedom from the devil and all his menacing schemes happens.  It is the new birth, becoming a new creation in Christ Jesus, and receiving redemption from all the devil’s plots and strategies he uses against humanity that brings freedom.  You have been redeemed, bought with the precious blood of Jesus.  That blood frees you from sin, guilt, shame, and any and all addictions, bad habits, and foul things the devil tries to put in your life.

Knowing who you are in Christ Jesus will free you from any bondage.  How do you get that knowledge?  John 8:31 says, “…if you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed.”  You must get into the Word of God, and not casually.  It must become your life, your DAILY BREAD.  You must renew your mind and go under a transformation; and as you go through the process of transforming your mind, your thoughts and actions will begin to follow.  As we continue to read this scripture, Verse 32 says, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”  People perish, the Bible says, because of a lack of knowledge, so you must know the truth.  The devil deceived Eve in the garden with the question he asked her, “Did God say…?”  If you don’t really know what God said, any lie from the devil will do; and those lies will keep you in bondage.  When you know the truth, speak and do the truth; only then will you remain free.

I am grateful for the anointing because the Word of God says the anointing will set you free.  I have seen people instantly set free during services where the anointing of the Holy Ghost was so strong; but I have also noticed that the devil that had them bound comes back and if they have not begun the process of getting deep into the Word of God, they do not seem to remain free. The Lord wants people instantly healed and set free, but it seems to me that as a disciple, you must learn to keep it.  The Word says that after Jesus defeated the devil in the wilderness, the devil left Jesus alone for a season.  Let’s all be prepared for the next season when the devil shows up.  How do we prepare?  Stay in the anointing, stay in the Word of God and renew your mind.  That’s how you will stay free indeed!
