When I was a child, I always had great respect for God, but I didn't think He wanted to be close to me.  When I found out that Jesus said we were His friends, it was just too good to be true.

Paul told us to follow his example.  He wasn’t the first.  We are told to be imitators of God (Ephesians 5:1).

In so many places in the Word, the Lord Jesus is very clear about where He should rank in our lives; it is alone at number 1.

When I read this verse in the KJV, it reminds me of conversations I have had with so many people when something happens that they just don’t understand, and they get stuck on the “Why did this happen?”

The theme of our church is “To know Him and to make Him known.”

When we understand where things come from, it helps us tremendously, especially with the things of God. Jesus clearly makes a line of demarcation when He says who does what to us in life.

I guess it is ok to let people know what is going on in your life. It doesn’t seem to have to be a secret in order for you to stay in faith.

In our society right now, everyone seems to be looking out for themselves and their family.  Taking care of #1. 

This verse is not just talking about marriage, even though you can use it for married people.  This verse is a call to those who can and should be there for other people.

First, notice it says “disciples,” which means one who is taught, also one who is trained.

The word “defiled” is a very strong word, and it has the meaning of rape. When someone has a full-grown root of bitterness that has developed into a plant, that plant begins to have seeds.

When you think of the word “reign,” you should immediately think of kingdom talk. That is the language given to us so we can think kingdom.

The Message Bible says it this way: “Watch out for the Esau syndrome: trading away God’s lifelong gift in order to satisfy a short-term appetite.

God's original plan for man can be found in the book of beginnings, Genesis. One thing is very clear: He told man to take dominion upon the earth.

The greatest display of God’s power that ever happened was when Jesus was raised from the dead (Ephesians 1:19–20).

A stronghold is a fortified place. In this case, it is a pattern of thinking that regulates your life.

The Apostle Paul had quite an interesting life; it was full of tumult. When he is introduced as Saul, he is a man on a mission to destroy the believers of Jesus Christ.

Jesus went on to say that the harvest is plenteous and to pray that laborers would go into the harvest field.

What does it mean to be stiff-necked? This is referring to someone who refuses to be led.
