Complete In Him

Colossians 2:9–10 (KJV) “9For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power:”

Complete, that is a monumental statement! And you know that the Lord is not one for exaggeration! Complete is absolutely nothing missing. If you have a pie, whatever your favorite pie is, and you take one pinch of the crust, it is no longer complete. Or if you have a pack of gum and break in half just one stick of that pack (like I had witnessed my grandmother do on many occasions), you no longer have a complete pack, because there is something missing that was there originally.

Now Colossians tells us we are complete in Him. If you look at the scripture right above verse 10, it gives us some insight into this completeness. So, since we are on kind of a food theme, let’s take a look at a Snickers bar. You know there is a lot going on in a Snickers bar, you have the chocolate, the peanuts, the nougat, and last but not least, you have the caramel. But you can go further than that; you also have all that is going on inside the chocolate, such as milk and its vitamin D, or all that is going on in peanuts, and so on. So, when you take a bite of a Snickers, you take in everything that is in that caramel and everything that is in the cream that is in the caramel. Get the picture?

So, for us, it says that we are complete in Him, which, according to verse 9, declares that in Him dwells ALL the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Just like that Snickers has a lot going on, Jesus has ALL that the Father is, ALL that the Holy Spirit is, and ALL that He is. Just think about ALL of the attributes of this Godhead! So, when we take Jesus in, wow, this is why He can say we are complete in Him. We are not having to look for a relationship, a job, a position, or anything or anyone else to complete us. If we are in Him, we are complete!
