No More Darkness!

1 Peter 2:9 — “…that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.”

The Passion Translation says it like this: “…that we should broadcast His glorious wonders throughout the world.”
The Amplified Classic says it like this: “…that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him.”

We are to be a living example of what God has done for us as His children—children He paid such a high price for. We are to share this glorious experience with those near and far. We are literally supposed to show others and tell others about this God who adopted us into His family and made us a kingdom of priests, and how He saved us and changed us by His glorious power. We should not only praise Him all day long, but we should also speak of His goodness to each other and to those who do not know Him all day long. It is our mission to show forth His praises so that we can reach those who are still in darkness.

The Word says in Isaiah 9:2, “The people who sat in darkness saw a great light.” We once sat in the darkness of this world. The devil even blinded our hearts so we could not see the light. Really, this is the epic battle between good and evil and between darkness and light. Jesus is the light of the world. He boldly said of Himself, “I am the light.” You and I once lived in darkness as we lived in sin; but when Jesus came into our lives, that darkness was removed and replaced with the light. The light of His Word set us free from the darkness of sin. The Word of God has now become a lamp to our feet and a light for our path. Thank God we are now children of the light. Darkness is still all around us, and before the return of Jesus, even gross darkness will be upon the earth. But we are children of the light, and we will shine brighter and brighter until the return of the Lord. Be children of the light and walk in the light as He is in the light, and darkness will stay far from you.
