BE LOOSED!
Luke 13:16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
I want you to notice that Jesus said that Satan had bound this woman. He was telling us, and everyone who would listen that day in the synagogue, that Satan is the one who puts sickness and disease on people. It never comes from God. God doesn’t do it, allow it, or have any part in it. Whether the sickness is a direct infliction from an evil spirit, or from just being on this fallen Earth, the source of all sickness and disease is the devil. Jesus made it as clear as possible; sickness is always from the devil, and, therefore, it should always be resisted. It is the will of the Lord to heal every time. There is no question about this in scripture. You can’t read through Jesus’ life on Earth and His ministry and not clearly see that sickness and disease is not the will of God. Jesus went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38).
The question is, why doesn’t every born-again person just walk in health? Because some people don’t believe, and others don’t know how to receive by faith, but that doesn’t change God’s will. What is clear is the first part of this verse. This woman had a covenant with God, through Abraham, that she was not walking in, so Jesus invoked it because she ought to be healed. You, too, have a covenant because of what Jesus did through His death and resurrection. His blood sealed a new and a better covenant established on better promises. Remember, Galatians 3:29 says that you are an heir because of Jesus; you are Abraham’s seed, and an heir according to the promise. You can receive healing just based on that fact alone.
Let’s not spend so much time on wondering why people don’t receive their healing. Instead, let’s just keep looking to the Word. Let’s just keep doing what we were told in Hosea and keep following on to know. Let’s not get bogged down with doubt and questionings; let’s trust God. What if a loved one didn’t receive, what if a friend didn’t receive, what if a famous faith preacher didn’t receive and went home early? It doesn’t change the written Word, and I’m not going to waste any time trying to figure out where or if they missed it. They are in Heaven and wouldn’t come back if you begged them. You have a covenant, so Satan can’t keep you bound. The will of God in Heaven is available to you right now while you are on the Earth!
