NO OFFENSE
Psalm 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.
Great peace is the result of doing this verse; and if there is one thing that is missing in a lot of people’s lives, it is great peace. This peace is available because Jesus left us His peace. We know we can have this peace if we keep our mind stayed on the Lord, but we also have this scripture that tells us how we can lose this peace or not be able to obtain this peace and that is because we don’t love His law (the Word of God), or we are walking in offense.
Psalm 119:97 says, “O how love I your law! It is my meditation all day.” Joshua was told to meditate all day long in the book of the law, so he could make his way prosperous and have good success. If you love something, you will spend your time with it or on it. When you love the law or love the Word of God, you give it priority in your life. You love to hear it, read it, study it, and meditate on it! This I also know. If you are loving the Word, you are also doing the Word. Jesus, who is the Word of God made flesh, said this, “If you love me, you will do what I say.” When you sow the Word, that seems to be the highest form of loving the Word. And when you are full of the Word and doing the Word, then nothing will offend you.
When you are full of the Word, it’s just a lot easier not to get offended. You will truly be able to say, “I will not be offended, and I will not take the offense.” The only way you can get to the place where nothing offends you is to be full of the Word of God. When you are offended, there is no peace. One of the signs of faith is that you are in peace. If you are offended, your faith will not work, you will not have peace, and you will be in disobedience to the Lord. It is easy to get offended in the day we live in, but don’t do it. Don’t take the offense. It costs way too much. Stay in peace by loving the Word of God and not letting anything or anyone offend you!
