DOUBLE
Isaiah 61:7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
When a thief is caught, the Word of God says that the minimum restoration that is due is a two-fold return. Job 42:10 tells us that after Job forgave his three friends, the Lord doubled what Job had before the devil stole it all. James tells us what we should learn from Job, and that is that the Lord is merciful and kind. For your trouble, for your pain, for your shame, the Lord will give you double. In Joel 2:25, it says the Lord will restore to us the years that have been taken from us by all those worms, which represent the devil’s destruction in our lives. That means if the devil got one over on you, you can still get double back for what was stolen.
The Lord is a restorer. He wants us to be restored and for us to help restore others. When David and his mighty men lost all they had in Ziglag, the Lord told David to pursue, overtake, and recover all. God wants you to pursue, overtake, and recover all in your life as well. The Lord is a master restorer. He will not only restore your emotions and heal your broken heart, but He will also restore material things that have been lost, no matter the reason. The Lord is kind, and He is merciful to us, His children.
Isaiah 51:11 says, “Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.” Even if you sowed in tears, you can reap in joy! Joy, a fruit of our born-again spirit, is also a spiritual force. We are to rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory, receiving the end of our faith. When you believe what God has said, you can rejoice the double in. It is yours. It is promised that for your shame you will have double. It is part of your inheritance. Job, who did not have a covenant, received double, and the children of Israel were promised double.
A double portion is the right of the first born. Jesus is the first begotten of God, and He said everything that He has is mine, so I am going to rejoice in the double portion that is due me. I am going to rejoice in the fact that no matter what the devil tries or does, I am going to have the double. I will rejoice in the truth that Jesus got jubilee for me, and I don’t have to wait for another 50 years like they did in the Old Covenant to receive it. Every day is our jubilee, and the Lord proclaims to you once again, it is double jubilee! Rejoice in it, believe it, and walk in it because it is your season! For your shame and for your pain, God is pouring out the double in your life. You can be just like Job and receive the double right now!
