Don’t Faint in Your Mind
Hebrews 12:3 “For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest you be wearied and faint in your minds.”
A key to finishing your course is your mind. We are told to consider Jesus and what He did on the cross and all that He went through for us. When we think on Him and meditate on what He did for us, it will keep us from being disqualified from the race. If we don’t think on and consider Him only, then we will get weary in our minds and will eventually faint.
The mind, which is part of our soul, is the pivotal part that will determine if we will finish our course. You are a spirit being, you have a soul, and you live in a body. Your spirit is alive unto God and is created in His likeness and His image, but your flesh is a mess unless you crucify it and keep it under. Your soul, especially your mind, has to be renewed to think the right way.
The Bible even tells us what to think on. Our mind has to be the doorkeeper, like a bouncer at the door, so that our flesh doesn’t just do whatever it wants when it wants. If we, as believers, don’t renew our minds, then eventually, during our race, we will faint.
When you faint, you temporarily lose control and pass out, and that can be a weird sensation. Fainting in your mind will cause you to be derailed from the God-given course in your life. It’s up to you to decide what you spend your time on and what goes into your mind, so do what you need to do every day to renew your mind. You can’t always control what you see and hear, but you can control what you think on. Make up your mind that you will not be fainting in your mind!
