Be Hospitable to One Another

1 Peter 4:9 “Use hospitality one to another without grudging.”

The word literally means to love strangers. Hospitality can be defined as the quality or disposition of receiving and treating guests and strangers in a warm, friendly, generous way. The natural side of Christian hospitality has almost been lost. I think it is due to the way people are today, but we are told to be hospitable one to another.

If you are not up to inviting someone to your house or out to eat, we should at least go out of our way to be friendly, gracious, and kind. Even Jesus said in Matthew that if you give someone water or bread in His name, you have done it unto Him. It is very interesting that Jesus is watching some of these things we do in the natural: how we treat people and what we do for people, even with food and water.

We should minister to the homeless, the poor, but also just anyone who might need a friend. That is it, Pastor, people befriending me! Well, can I tell you something? You shouldn't be waiting on people to befriend you. If you are reading this, you are capable, by the help of the Holy Ghost, of making godly friends. You act on the Word and don't wait for others to act. You take the initiative. Confess over yourself, “I am a very hospitable person, and I am going to show it to people.”
