Faith Is of the Heart

Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

When we believe, we believe from the heart. That word is kardia from the Greek, and it means the center. You don’t believe God from your mind or your soul. You believe from the center of you. The center of you is your heart, the spirit of a man.

Your heart, not the organ that pumps blood, but the spirit of man, is capable of believing the things that God says. It was capable even before the new birth. Wow! Your faith in God that comes from the heart is able to receive from God even before the new birth. The heroes of faith in Hebrews 11 were not born again. You were not born again before you were born again.

How much more should you and I be able to believe from our heart today with our union to the Lord Jesus Christ? Believe with your heart, and all things are possible to those who believe.
