PEACE THAT PASSES UNDERSTANDING.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

When we refuse to worry and, instead, pray and receive from God and are thankful, the peace of God will take the place of worry. I am grateful for the peace of God. Jesus made it very clear how important it is for us to walk in peace. He left us His very own peace that He walked in while He was here on the Earth. John 14:27 says, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” According to Isaiah 26:3, if we keep our mind stayed on Him, we will have this perfect peace Jesus left us.

Why is this peace so necessary? Our scripture says that it passes, or transcends, our understanding. This peace goes beyond our normal understanding. In the natural, it may look like you should worry, be upset, and fret over the situation, but because of this peace that Jesus gave you that you are walking in, because your mind is stayed on the Word, or on Jesus, you remain in perfect tranquility, perfect peace. This peace is amazing! It will even guard, or garrison, your heart and mind through Christ Jesus. This peace comes in as a barrier against what is going on that should shake you, but it can’t because you have decided to keep your mind on Jesus. You have decided to only look at the Author and the Finisher of your faith. You have decided to let the peace of God rule and reign in your life. This decision will be challenged, especially when you are walking through something; but if you stick with this decision, the peace of God will keep you in faith. This peace, a fruit of the spirit, will cause you to walk in victory.

How do you keep in this perfect peace that Jesus left you? When the devil starts talking to your mind, when the circumstances try to take ascendancy on the inside and out of your mouth, you begin to proclaim the Word of God. You say, “I am walking in the perfect peace Jesus left for me. I am keeping my mind on the Prince of Peace; I will not give into a spirit of fear.” You know what the Word says about you and your situation, so walk in the peace Jesus left you. This peace will exceed anything you can understand with your mind, and it will protect you in the middle of any assault by the devil or circumstances of your life.
