The Plan of God for My Life

Psalm 37:23 (AMPC) “The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step].”

Everyone needs to know what God has called them to do. So many times, we think this is just for those called to the ministry, but that is not true. God has a plan for everyone’s life. Everyone has been given a race to run.

Since we are all in a race, there is a finish line. The finish line is the Judgment Seat of Christ. This is the place you will receive the rewards for your life on Earth as a believer. In other words, this is where you are rewarded for your obedience. It’s where you receive crowns (2 Corinthians 5:10). Paul reminded us in Philippians 3:14 to press toward the mark, or finish line, for the prize. The finish line is the Judgment Seat, and the prizes are crowns. I want to receive a crown to lay at Jesus’ feet! (Revelation 4:10)

Everyone has a race. Everyone has a specific course they are supposed to run. In Ephesians 2:10, we are told that the Lord predestined us for good works which He prepared for us ahead of time. How far ahead of time? While you were in your mother’s womb, before you did anything right or wrong, He arranged something good for you to walk into.

Our scripture for today says, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and He delights in his way.” God has ordered your steps. In other words, He has laid out a path for you to walk in. You must find the path; it is not automatic. Proverbs 19:21 (AMPC) says, “Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand.” Only God’s plans for our lives will stand. Only God’s plans for our lives will satisfy us! Only God’s plans for our lives will produce the contentment we need in life.

You must find the plan. How? The Word of God will help you find it. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” The Word of God in your life will light the right direction for you.

You can also pray it out. 1 Corinthians 14:2 says that by praying in tongues, you can pray out the mystery. Your future is a mystery, but you can pray it out. While praying, the Holy Spirit can show you things to come (John 16:13). You can know every step you are supposed to take.

You can also pray the Epistle prayers over your life. When you pray the Word or the light over your life, it is easy to see where to walk. There is no stumbling in the light.

Thank God for the Holy Ghost who, because we are the sheep of the Master, guides us. We are His sheep; we know His voice, and the voice of a stranger we will not follow.

I have a race to run, and I will find the right course. I will run, with patience, the race set before me, and I will receive my crown to put at Jesus’ feet!
