THE NAME OF JESUS
Acts 3:16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
The name of Jesus is above every name. Philippians 2:9–10 says, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.
The name of Jesus is above every name. There is nothing above that name.
Jesus was recorded saying in Mark 16:17, “…In my name shall they cast out devils…” We have the name that is above everything the devil would try to do. If the devil is the author of it, Jesus’ name triumphs over it. There is a catch, though; you must have faith in that name.
That name is attached to a person. You must believe in the person of Jesus Christ and everything that He accomplished through His death on the cross, His burial in a tomb, His victory in hell, and His resurrection from the dead. Ephesians 1:19-21 tells us that Jesus is seated far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. There is no name higher than the name of Jesus. You must believe that to invoke that name on your behalf. You must believe that Jesus did everything the Word says.
When you use that name, it is not just to end your prayer. You are invoking the highest name there is. You are saying it as if Jesus were actually standing here saying it. You have come as His representative, and He has given you authority to use His name. You and I have been given delegated authority to use that name. Use it!
