Cast your crown
Revelation 4:10 “The twenty-four elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying.”
In this chapter, John is giving us a glimpse of a worship service that is happening in Heaven. It features the 24 Elders that sat around the throne, and also the four creatures, all worshipping the Lord.
What then happens has inspired me for all these years. The elders take off their crowns and lay them at Jesus’ feet; and then, in Verse 11, they continue to worship Him saying, “You are worthy, Lord, to receive glory and honor, and power.” He alone is worthy of all glory, honor, and power.
This to me is where we will all get to lay our crown at Jesus’ feet. Where did they get their crowns? The only place I see in the Word of God where people get crowns is at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
My point is this, let’s live our lives to get a crown, so we can join in this worship service. If you live every day like you are about to appear before the Judgment Seat and then have an opportunity to worship Jesus and thank Him for all He did for you, you will more likely finish your race.
