Get your crown
2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
Many people believe Heaven is their finish line. In other words, they live their Christian life knowing that when they take their last breath, they are immediately in the presence of the Lord and will be there for all of eternity. That is true, but there is another stop along the way. It is called the Judgment Seat of Christ; some prefer to call it the rewards seat of Christ.
This is where you will receive your crown(s) based on your obedience to what the Lord called you to do in your mother’s womb. Did you run your race? Did you finish your course? Will you hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant”? Those things are all on us. No one can answer those things for you, and no one else is responsible for you finishing your course but you.
Our obedience to our individual call determines our reward. That is why it is so important, after someone is born again and discipled, to seriously spend time in the Word of God, in prayer, being led by the Spirit of God, and finding out what their God-given course is in this life; and then be determined to follow that vision and please the Lord, so they can receive a crown for their obedience to the plan God gave them.
