Blessed to Be A Blessing

1 Timothy 6:17-18 - Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share.

John 10:10 says Jesus came to give us ZOE, which is the God kind and quality of life. It is a life that is an abundance of God’s goodness toward us. Ephesians 3:20 says God wants to bless us exceeding, abundantly above all you could think or ask. Wow! The Lord wants you to enjoy your life. He is not a withholder. If we seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness, He will add all things that the Gentiles seek to our lives. God has made the abundant life available, so enter in!

Good works are important to the Lord because He is good. In reference here, good works would be to give finances or provide for those who are in financial need. You can’t give something you do not have. It always amuses me how some “holy” people think it is wrong to have money, and yet they expect everyone to give. Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could live on 10% and give away 90%? It is all in how you look at it and understand it. God wants me blessed so I can be a blessing.

The NASB says to be generous and ready to share. It is clearly true what Paul recommends, which aligns with what Jesus said in Acts 20:35, “…It is more blessed to give than to receive.” It is fun to give! It is the heart of the Father. For God so loved the world that He gave. The Father gave us His best; He gave us Jesus. Having a generous heart is having the heart of the Father.

Listen, there are “takers” everywhere. Don’t let the “takers” keep you from being generous. Do everything you do unto the Lord. Don’t let anyone steal your generous spirit.
