Can Two Walk Together?
Amos 3:3 “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
Very simply put, if we don’t agree with God, agree with His Word, we can’t really walk with Him. I didn’t say you were not saved. I said you couldn’t walk with Him. What a shame to be invited to be in the family of God, to be adopted and made a joint heir with the Lord Jesus, and then not walk with the Heavenly Father.
He said that we can’t walk with Him unless we agree with Him. James 1:17 says that there is no variableness with God, not even a shadow of turning. What does that mean? Does it mean God never changes His mind? I don’t think so because He says, “Come, let us reason together.” Moses interceded, and God changed His mind. There are many other similar situations throughout the Word where God changed His mind. So, it doesn’t mean that; but what it does mean is that God’s character will not change.
He is steadfast and true to His promises. If He says it, He will do it. What He likes and dislikes will never change. The Bible will never need an update. If any changing is needed in order to walk with God, we will be the ones doing the changing.
It can be a constant changing on our part as we continue to put on the new man and grow in our revelation of the Word of God. The more we change, the closer we will walk to and with God. The more we agree with God, the more humble we will become, and the more we will walk with Him. As His thoughts become our thoughts and His ways become our ways, it will draw us closer and closer together.
To walk with the Almighty God, with Abba, we must ask ourselves, “Is what I am doing pulling me away from God or drawing me nearer?” What can we do to draw nearer to Him? The Psalmist said, “He is close to those who call upon Him in truth,” so the more truth I know, the more truth I will walk in, the more light I walk in, and the closer I will draw to Him.
I agree with You, Lord! I agree!
