COUNT GOD FAITHFUL

Hebrews 11:11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

The promises of God are yes and amen in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20). When God gives you a promise, He aims to keep that promise to you. The Word of God shall never return void, but it will always accomplish what it was sent to do (Isaiah 55:11). God, through His Word, has given us so many promises, and they are for you. However, you, like Sarah, must receive them through faith. You must learn to do it for yourself. You must realize even if it is naturally impossible, if you count God faithful, you will see the promise.

Sarah was told by Abraham the plan of God, that they were to have a son, an heir. After God made Abraham that promise, Abraham believed God. How do I know? His body began to work because he was able to conceive Ishmael; however, Ishmael was not the plan of God. Abraham and Sarah had messed up, so we can see the plan of God is not always done perfectly by humanity. Thank God for His mercy and goodness and that He always keeps working with us to get His will accomplished in our lives. God and Abraham had a talk about Ishmael. Abraham wanted to change God’s mind about Ishmael being the heir, but God was very specific that it was to be a son from Abraham and Sarah. So, Sarah is back in the picture, but she is still not in faith. It wasn’t until God and Abraham were talking about Sodom and Gomorrah did things change. God asked where Sarah was; she was in the tent, and that is when God said, “At this time next year, the two of you will have a son, and, by the way, name him Isaac.” Sarah, at first, was in unbelief as she laughed and pointed out that they don’t even do “that” anymore. But somewhere in the three months that followed, Sarah got in faith because she had heard God for the first time for herself; she now counted God faithful, and strength came into her body, and she conceived Isaac. She finally was able to judge God faithful. He said it, she believed it and then, the power came into her body and the promise was fulfilled. In the same way, this can happen for you and me. Let’s count God faithful!
