WHAT’S UNDER HIS FEET?

Ephesians 1:22-23 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fulness of him that fills all in all.

What are the things that have been put under Jesus’ feet? In other words, what has Jesus taken back from the devil after defeating him through His death, burial, and resurrection? He took back everything the devil was freely able to do to mankind. Yes, everything!

Let’s start with sin. The devil’s fallen nature was in every human because Adam and Eve turned the Earth over to the devil and then, separation from the Father happened. Jesus put that under His feet. He who knew no sin became sin, so we could become righteous. For those who will receive Jesus, everything changes; they get a new nature created in the image and likeness of God.

Sickness and disease are now under Jesus’ feet. We know that scripture clearly teaches us what Jesus would do and has done on the cross, so we no longer have to be sick. Isaiah foretold of the stripes the Lamb of God would take. Jesus said, in Matthew, that this scripture is fulfilled, and Peter tells us by Jesus’ stripes we were healed.

We also know that poverty is under Jesus’ feet. 2 Corinthians clearly tells us that Jesus became poor so that we could become rich. Jesus’ demonstration of turning water into wine and multiplying food several times shows that poverty is defeated for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Sin, sickness and disease, and poverty are all under Jesus’ feet. The devil and demons are under Jesus’ feet. He defeated the devil and made a show of him openly we are told in Colossians. We have been raised up with Jesus and everything that is under His feet is under our feet. Our problem is, we don’t see that! We pray, talk, and act like we are under the devil, so he is always getting the best of us; but in truth, we are over him and have been given a name to prove it. We must see ourselves in Christ Jesus, seated at the right hand of the Heavenly Father.

Today’s scripture says that Jesus is the head, and we are the body. The head and the body are one. Your head that sits on your shoulder doesn’t go around doing things on its own. In the same way, we can do nothing without the head, but Jesus needs us to be the Body of Christ here on the Earth, so we can get the work done.

Then, the last part of our verse for today tells us that the fulness of Jesus is manifested in the Body of Christ. This means we are to do the works that Jesus did on the Earth, and He said even greater works would we do. How do we do it? By being seated in Christ Jesus far above the works of the devil and having the name of Jesus and the Spirit of God upon us. The Lord is still here on the Earth doing His works by the Holy Spirit, but now, He has brothers and sisters who are carrying out His great plan.
