QUICKENED

Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

The Lord’s power was used to heal many. The woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus and virtue or power went out of Jesus and healed her body. The power of God fell on people in the book of Acts, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit, which enabled them to speak in tongues and be changed. This aspect of the power of God, which the KJV translates as “quickened,” has a specific purpose that we all need. The Bible says this power quickens your mortal flesh. For what purpose? This power brings your flesh under control so that it doesn’t crave the sinful nature that it was born with, and you will be able to say, “I don’t want to sin anymore.”

Recognizing that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, which Ephesians says is the greatest power of God ever displayed, lives on the inside of us and is life changing. In 1 Corinthians 3:16 and 6:19, we learn that we are the temples of the Holy Ghost. Our spirits, which are inside our bodies, is the house of God. If you think about the Ark of the Covenant and the power of God that was displayed because of that Ark, you should get very excited today knowing that you are now that container because God said He would no longer dwell in things made by men’s hands (the Ark of the Covenant). God would now dwell in us and be a God to us, and we would be His people. That power in you will quicken you, like it dried the flood waters as the Ark went before the children of Israel. It will put the enemy on his face, like it did Dagon when the Ark of the Covenant was stored within Dagon’s temple. It will cause you to shout and dance like it did David and the children of Israel on multiple occasions. That power will make alive your flesh and cause you to rule over your flesh in this life by one Jesus Christ. Confess, “I receive the quickening power of the Holy Ghost who lives on the inside of me; the same power that raised Jesus and me from the dead is making alive my mortal flesh.”
