Your Serving Is Not in Vain

1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be you steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

The Lord told us to be steadfast and unmovable. That means we could be easily moved. When people talk about being steadfast and unmovable, they are usually referring to, “Don’t be moved off your faith or your confession of faith,” and that is absolutely true. We are also warned that just like circumstances would try to move us from our faith, circumstances and the devil himself will try to move us from our acts of service.

When we serve the Lord by serving people, there are rewards and benefits right now, here on the Earth. The Lord will show Himself strong to us. The devil would like to frustrate you and keep you from getting blessed by the Lord. How will the devil do it? He will try and move you. We have to be like the Apostle Paul in our faith and our service to the Lord, who said, “None of these things move me.”

You have to make up your mind that no matter what the devil does, no matter what life brings, unless the Lord leads you to stop serving in an area, you will not be moved. Don’t let circumstances, stress, drama, life, people, criticism, hurt feelings, or anything the devil tries, which happens to everyone, move you. You have to decide, “I shall not be moved!”

If our labor is not in vain, even though it seems to be worth nothing, it is worth something to the Lord. I will say, it’s worth a lot to the Lord. It shows that you love Him and love His people. And it is not in vain because it comes with great rewards.

We need to be like one of my favorite people in the Bible, Nehemiah. The Lord told him to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. He was opposed on every side. The enemy tried to get him to quit by lies, distractions, threats, etc., but he said this, and it has become a saying of mine, “I am doing a great work, and I cannot come down.”

Stay on the wall. Stay on your assignment. It is not in vain and has great rewards!
