What Do You Have?
Matthew 13:11–12 (AMP)
“11 Jesus replied to them, ‘To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted. [Mark 4:11]
12 For whoever has [spiritual wisdom because he is receptive to God’s word], to him more will be given, and he will be richly and abundantly supplied; but whoever does not have [spiritual wisdom because he has devalued God’s word], even what he has will be taken away from him.’ [Matthew 25:29; Mark 4:25; Luke 8:18]
In order to do the will of God, we must know it. Therefore, if we must know, the Lord must show. Today’s scripture says that to us (Christ’s disciples) it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. The Lord is faithful to His Word to give us the knowledge of His will and how His kingdom operates; however, we must esteem and walk in what we’ve been given.
In today’s Daily Bread, we are looking at a principle that is found in three of the four Gospels. That principle is that to him who has, to him more will be given, and he will have an abundance; but he who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. Out of the multiple scriptural examples that illustrate this principle, only one was regarding stewarding money. The others were related to hearing, esteeming, and desiring the Word of God and the revelation He gives.
It is God’s will for us to know the things that have been freely given to us by Him, and He reveals them to us through His Word and by His Spirit. God’s will is that we are filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual insight—being able to apply the knowledge of His will to our lives in a practical way, for His glory.
If we walk in the light of the knowledge of God’s glory that we have, more light will be given. If we despise the current revelation we have and do not walk in it, we will lose it and end up walking in darkness.
What revelation and understanding of the Word of God do you currently have? My encouragement to you today is to esteem what the Lord has given you and be a good steward of it. If you desire more, walk in the light of the knowledge of God’s glory that you have, and more light will be given, and you will have an abundance! Faithfulness to walk in the revealed knowledge of God’s will leads to even more revelation.
