Made Righteous

2 Corinthians 5:21 - For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

When you were born again, your nature changed. You were a sinner who got saved by grace through faith, and you became righteous. Galatians 3:24 says, “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified (made righteous) by faith.” Keeping the law can’t make you righteous, but by faith, believing that Jesus died for your sins and was raised again for your justification, will make you righteous. You are saved, sanctified, and justified. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

You cannot be righteous in yourself. You need this righteousness in your life to be in relation with Father God. Abraham believed God, and righteousness was imputed to him. It seems because Abraham was not yet in Christ and was not made righteous, the Bible says he believed God and righteousness was granted as a gift to Abraham so he would be in line to receive from God (Romans 3 & 4). You, however, because of the new birth, are in Christ. Old things (unrighteousness) have passed away, and behold all things (righteousness) are new. You are that new creation in Him, and you, my friend, are righteous.
