HE BEGINS AND FINISHES IT!
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
We all have good works to do, not when it comes to getting saved, but after you are born again. These are the things which God ordained for you before the foundation of the world that begin to stir in your heart once you’re born again. Ephesians 2:10 says that God prearranged things for you to do, good works. It is those things that you will be judged and rewarded for at the Judgement Seat of Christ, things that God put in your heart while you were in your mother’s womb before you did anything right or wrong. So, it is now up to you to search the hidden things in your heart to discover who you are and who God made you to be. I know this, God doesn’t make junk; and He doesn’t make any part of His body to just do nothing. Everyone has a function. The Lord is the one who began this good work in you. That is evident. It is not of ourselves. It is the glorious plan of God for our lives chosen for us by the Almighty. The things He puts in our heart to do will bring us joy, peace, and fulfillment in our life. This is not just ministry or what some people would say are spiritual things, but it includes careers and businesses; every part of your life is planned by God.
The next thing this scripture says is, “He will perform it.” The Amplified Classic says it this way, “Developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.” After we decide to walk in the steps that God has ordered for us, He then begins to perfect or develop those plans He has for us. In other words, He doesn’t just say, “Figure it out; you’re on your own now.” No. He nurtures, guides, and trains you each step of the way. He will show you where to go and where not to go. He will show you what to do and what not to do. He will bring divine appointments to help you along the way. He will literally work with you until you go to be with Him or the trumpet sounds. He began it, and He will complete it. Our job is to cooperate with the Word and the Holy Spirit. He gave the assignment, the good works, so your part is to accept it and begin to do it and do it every day until you hear, “Well done good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord.”
