SPIRIT AND LIFE
John 6:63 (NLT) The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
The Lord has given us His Word. He moved on holy men of old to write down His ways and His thoughts, which became the logos or the written Word of God. It is God breathed. It is alive. It is sharper than any two-edged sword and is able to divide between soul and spirit. When it is spoken and believed, it has creative abilities. It is seed when received in a believer’s good soil and will produce a harvest of righteousness. Jesus Himself is the Word made flesh. The Word made everything we see, and it is still creating today. His Word is truth. He is the truth! If that wasn’t enough, He then decided to speak to our hearts by His Spirit and that Word becomes God’s Word to us individually. He brings direction, revelation, peace, and everything we need to navigate this life. His words become the driving force in our lives; and as we do them, His power is manifested in our lives.
God’s words are containers for His spiritual power. They are from the spirit realm; therefore, they contain the power of Heaven. His Word never returns void but always accomplishes what it was sent to do. The Word of God is a spiritual seed that when planted in good soil, always produces a spiritual harvest. “The words I speak to you,” Jesus said, “they are spirit and life.” Again, the life of God is contained in every Word of God because it comes from the realm of the spirit. Don’t ever forget when you read the Word of God, that it has the power to create from an unseen realm, which is the realm of the spirit, the realm of God.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life.” The God kind of life, “zoe,” is found within the written Word of God. The life and the nature of God is found in His Word. The Word of God is able to bring the life of God to every situation in your life. It is able to take whatever is wrong and elevate it to the status of the life of God so we no longer have to settle for what this world has to offer, but we can receive all that God has for us. Don’t settle for an ordinary life; receive the life of God. The Word and the power of God, or you could say, the Word and the life of God working in your life gives God the ability to give you the exceedingly, abundantly above all you could ever ask or think life.
