You Have a Supply

Ephesians 4:16 (AMPC) “[For because of Him the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, when each part [with power adapted to its need] is working properly [in all its functions], grows to full maturity, building itself up in love.]”

The way God designed the Body of Christ to function at its optimum capacity is that every part gives its supply. Unfortunately, most people in the Body are not giving their supply at all. This is a major reason that the glory of God is not in full manifestation, because the Body of Christ, as a whole, is weak.

Think about your physical body. What if it only functioned at 20%? You wouldn’t even be able to get up out of bed in the morning. You wouldn’t be able to feed yourself, dress yourself, or function in any meaningful way.

Yet, that is the latest statistic of active members who serve in their local church. I am grateful we are way above the national average, yet what a dream it would be if we had 100% serving! The local body would then be able to do everything the Lord assigned it to do, with every part giving its supply that the Lord has gifted them with and every grace in the church working at its fullest capacity. Wow!

Getting there, we would see full maturity in the church. Members flowing, one with another, each giving their full supply. That’s when you will see a glorious church. You will see the powerful last-days church. Instead of the “serve me” attitude, you will see the “who can I serve?” attitude, as we become more and more like Jesus. We are headed in that direction, and I am excited about it. Loving one another, washing each other’s feet, just like Jesus told us to do.

One of the best things you can do is to help another member of the Body of Christ find their place. Exhort them (don’t harass, embarrass, or guilt them). Love them into their place. Tell them you need them to help you serve the Lord and bring the local body and the universal Body of Christ to full maturity.

It is time to grow up into the love of Christ and walk in the fullness of Christ.
