Day 25 | communion

Jesus’ Blood Testifies

Day 25 of At His Table explores the testimony of the blood of Jesus and asks an important question: What evidence are we choosing to believe? First John 5 tells us that the Spirit, the water, and the blood all testify and agree. Yet sometimes the circumstances surrounding us seem to present evidence that contradicts what God has said.

Today's devotional uses the powerful picture of “planted evidence.” Just as false evidence can lead an investigation toward the wrong conclusion, difficult circumstances can tempt us to believe things that don't align with God's Word. A situation may suggest that God has forgotten us, that nothing will change, or that His promises aren't true—but circumstances don't get the final word.

The blood of Jesus provides a greater testimony. It testifies that redemption was purchased, forgiveness was provided, we have been brought near to God, and His love for us was demonstrated at the cross. As you take communion today, consider which testimony has your attention. Day 25 encourages us to look beyond what circumstances seem to be saying and anchor our faith in the enduring evidence of Christ's finished work: the blood still testifies.
