LIGHT ON MY PATH
Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
I don’t know if you have ever tried to walk down a path in the middle of the night through the woods, but it can be a little unnerving. You never know if you are putting your steps in the right place, especially if you have never been there before. The fear of the unknown is a very troubling feeling.
Most people walk through their spiritual life this way never really knowing where they are going as they walk the path of life. It is all very troubling and unsettling; and when there is a bump in the path, there is a fear that everything is about to go very bad.
What is the cure? Light on the path will fix the situation every time. If you bring a flashlight with you on your path, not one of those little itsy bitsy tiny ones but one that when you turn it on, will light up the woods, then you will know where your path is, and you can also see a good bit ahead of you.
Spiritually, the only way to do this is with the Word of God. The Word of God in your heart and mouth will be like a floodlight on your path, especially illuminating where your feet should be placed next.
The thing with paths is they are not always smooth. Some have holes, tree roots, and many other hazards (maybe a lion, a tiger, or a bear). With the light of the Word of God, you will know what to do next.
What does that bring? Peace, comfort, security, and boldness about where to step next.
My path grows brighter and brighter every day because I have more Word in me today than I did yesterday.
Get full of the Word of God and illuminate your path.
