HE IS RISEN

Mark 16:6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

The resurrection of Jesus is the most important event in the Word of God. Without the resurrection of Jesus, there is no new birth. When you and I are born again, the most important truth to believe, according to Romans 10:9–10, is that Jesus was raised from the dead.

1 Peter 1:3 (NIV) says, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

When Jesus appeared to John the Revelator, He said this in Revelation 1:18, “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” Before Jesus said this to John, He said in Verse 17, “Fear not.” Where have we heard that before?

The resurrection of Jesus is celebrated by the church once a year, and that is fine. But the truth is, without the resurrection, there would be no reason to gather on any day. He is risen. He is alive for evermore. We serve a risen Saviour. He is the first and the last. He is Alpha and Omega. He is the beginning and the end.
