WHEN HE RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD
Ephesians 1:19–20 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places.
Jesus died naturally. When He was on the cross, He cried, “It is finished,” and He gave up the ghost. In other words, He died just as any other human being would have died; but when He died, something very different happened.
The Bible clearly tells us in Acts 2:29–33 that Jesus’ soul went into hell. Why? He went into hell to destroy the works of the devil (Colossians 2:15). He went into hell to get back the keys of hell and of death (Revelation 1:18).
It took the greatest display of God’s power ever used to raise Jesus from the dead. Why? It was because of what Jesus had to become so we could be free and for the price that was necessary to pay to get our freedom from the devil.
He was not the only one being raised from the dead. Jesus was raised, but we were also raised with Him. All of humanity now has the opportunity to touch that moment in time and be raised from the dead too, to be loosed from the bondage of the devil, to become righteous, healed, blessed, and to receive all the other benefits Jesus provided.
What He did and the amount of people He was doing it for caused God to send the exceeding greatness of His dunamis power. Jesus was raised from the dead and is alive so you could be raised from the dead and experience the life of God.
