TURNED FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT
Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
The god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers according to 2 Corinthians 4:4, and Jesus gave the Apostle Paul, and us, the assignment of turning the lost from darkness to light and releasing them from the prison house that the devil has them locked in.
How can we help? First, we must pray and take authority over the god of this world and pray that the blinders be removed from the eyes of those we know and care about or are about to be ministered to. Next, we must preach the gospel to them. The real gospel is the only thing that can help them. That gospel is anointed to break the bondage that Satan has them in.
True compassion is telling someone that the wages of sin is death, but that Jesus will bring them life. The only cure for the sin of rejecting Jesus, which sends people to hell, is receiving the finished work of Jesus, His death, burial, and resurrection. We must tell them the truth.
We must also share with people all that salvation includes. I am so grateful Jesus told Paul to tell them they have an inheritance because we are sanctified by our faith in Jesus Christ. It is by grace through faith that we have received this inheritance.
What is the inheritance? Jesus said, “All things that the Father hath are mine…” We also know that all the blessings of Abraham come on us by faith in Jesus Christ. Every promise is yea and amen unto us who walk in Christ. There is not anything that God has that is not available to each and every one of us now that we are in the family and have been adopted into full sonship.
Everything Jesus has is ours; we are heirs and joint heirs with the Lord Jesus Christ. We are to rule and reign in Him in this life and not only in this life but the one to come.
What a Savior. What a salvation. What an inheritance. Thank you, Lord Jesus.
