Deuteronomy 32:4 (NIV) “He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.”
God is perfect. He doesn’t make mistakes. He cannot and will not let you down. It is not in His makeup to fail. He is perfect in everything He does. Romans 9:33 and 10:11 say, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” When you believe in Him, He will not let you down. Why? Because He is perfect.
James even tells us that “Every good and perfect gift comes down from Heaven, and there is no variableness, no shadow of turning.” “No variableness” means that no matter what you put into the equation, God remains constant. He will not and cannot let you down because He is perfect in all His ways and in all His dealings.
You must settle that there is no one and no situation you know of where God has failed because He didn’t. He couldn’t fail because He is God. What happened then? We, as human beings, are so funny. We don’t think it could ever be us. The first thing we want to do is blame God. Why? Because the devil is right there trying to get humanity to blame the Almighty.
Job’s wife was inspired by the devil to say to Job, “Just curse God and die.” Job wouldn’t and didn’t. He may not have understood where bad things come from like we do because we have the Word of God and know there is an enemy, but Job still refused to blame God.
If we could just start and stay there, our lives would be so much better, knowing that if something didn’t work out, it was on our end, not God’s. It is just so much easier to blame God or find Him somehow at fault, but He is not! He can’t be because He is perfect.
We may not understand what happened, but we must trust Him and move on. We must do what the Word says and follow on to know. What is that? It’s saying, “I may not understand why this happened, but one thing I know: God is good and perfect, and I trust Him, and I will follow Him all the days of my life.”
Bottom line: Don’t blame a perfect God for something you don’t understand. Instead, decide once and for all: He is perfect, He is my God, He is my Father, and I trust Him and will follow only Him all my days.
