Think More Highly of One Another Than You Do Yourself

Philippians 2:3-4 (AMPC) “...Instead, in the true spirit of humility (lowliness of mind) let each regard the others as better than and superior to himself [thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves]. Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others.”

We are so trained by this world’s system to think of ourselves first and rarely to think about others. In the Kingdom of God, over and over again, we are told to care for, be kind to, bear the burdens of, and take care of our brothers and sisters in Christ, and minister to those who are lost.

The Word continues in verse 5 to talk about this very attitude that He is telling us to have that was in Jesus as He left Heaven and prepared to go to the cross for us. He humbled Himself and took on the form of a servant. He washed the disciples’ feet before He went to the cross to show us one more time that we are here to serve, not be served.

When you put others first, you enable God to move on your behalf, and the favor surrounding you gets stronger and stronger. People will want to help you with the endeavors in your life as you have sown that good seed. Let us serve one another and not put our needs and wants above others or even at their expense.
