GOD IS FAITHFUL

1 Thessalonians 5:24 “Faithful is He who calls you, who also will do it.”

This reminds me of Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” God is the One who began this good work in you, and He began it early. I mean really early—while you were in your mother’s womb, before you did anything right or wrong. God is the initiator, and we are to respond to the good work that He has ordained for us to do. We have a part, and that is our obedience. And God wants us to know that He is faithful to do His part.

This verse is for everybody and not just those called to ministry. God will be faithful to whatever He created you to do. One very important thing to know in our walk with God is that the problems of our life are never God withholding or not doing what He said He would do. God will always do His part.

I love finding out in Hebrews 11:11 about Isaac’s birth, that Sarah counted God faithful. When did she do that? It must have taken her a month or two after she was hiding in a tent and God said, “This time next year you will have a son,” because at first Sarah laughed and thought it was impossible, but obviously, three months later, she conceived, and Hebrews tells us why. She counted God faithful, and from that she received strength to conceive Isaac. It was God’s will a long time before that, but only when Sarah knew that God was faithful did everything change.

God is faithful to you and to whatever plan He has for your life, and He is faithful to fulfill it. Be like Sarah and count God faithful!
