STAND UP IN FAITH
Acts 14:9–10 (KJV) “The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.”
Can you have faith to be healed and not get healed? Yes. The man had faith. Paul perceived it, meaning Paul, by the Holy Ghost, knew in his spirit that the man had faith. That, however, was not enough. The man had to act on his faith.
Paul helped him receive by telling him what to do. He said, “Stand up!” The man obeyed, even though in the natural he could not stand up. From his heart, he stood up. From his faith in the Word of God he had heard, he stood up. That is the way faith works. That is how we receive from God.
Paul did not say, “Repeat after me.” He said, “Stand up!” Yes, words are critical, but most of the time there is a corresponding action to faith. If the man had said, “I believe what you said; I am healed,” but did nothing—couldn’t or wouldn’t stand up—there would have been no healing that day.
Paul did what he was supposed to do. He ministered the Word of God. The man heard the Word of God and had faith, but without the corresponding action, there would have been no healing. Be looking for the “stand up” with whatever you are believing for.
