PROVISION

Matthew 2:11
“And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped Him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.”

Provision has always been something God has done from the beginning. It started with Adam and Eve. In Genesis, Chapter 2, we see a description of the Garden of Eden. God gave them, in abundance, everything they would need to thrive. He wanted everything to be perfect for His man; so much so that when Adam, who was the first but alone, God saw it was not good, so He provided Adam with Eve.

It is so interesting the start the Lord gave His Son, Jesus, on the Earth. The Father moved on the gentile kings to bring treasures to Jesus. I think sometimes, because of Christmas plays where we see the gold, frankincense, and myrrh, we think it was only a box of each that was brought, but that is not what happened. These kings treated Jesus’ birth as a king coming into the Earth, so they brought load after load of all three. The wealth that Joseph and Mary now had was going to sustain them during their time in Egypt. I think God wanted us to see that He always provides for His children. He did it with Adam, and He did it with Jesus, and now He wants to do it for you.

I want to remind you this Christmas season, if you are a child of God, if you are born again, if you are in a covenant with the Most High, then provision is available to you as a son of God. Galatians 3:13–14 clearly tells us that Jesus became a curse so that the blessing of Abraham would come on all who believe, and not just believe in Jesus but believe that Jesus became the curse of poverty so you could be blessed with Abraham in Christ. In 2 Corinthians 8:9, it clearly states Jesus became poor that you could become rich, so financial wealth isn’t a dishonest thing because both Chapters 8 and 9 are talking about money.

There are promises for you this season as we celebrate the birth of the Christ, our Savior. In 3 John 2, it clearly states He wants you to prosper. Philippians 4:19 says He will supply all of your needs. If we will obey the Word of God by believing and giving our corresponding actions to our belief by tithing and giving of offerings, blessing the poor, and being ready to distribute wealth any time the Lord asks us because we are blessed to be a blessing, then we will walk in the same abundance as Adam, Jesus, Abraham, and any other person who was blessed in the Word of God, all because of Jesus and our obedience to His Word!

Merry Christmas, you blessed child of God!
