CORRESPONDING ACTIONS

Mark 5:27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

The woman with the issue of blood did hear something because she had faith to do something from what she had heard and began to say something. We know she had heard about healing virtue coming out of Jesus because she said, “If I can touch His garment, I will be whole” So, as she went to meet Jesus, she kept saying to herself, “If I can but touch him, I will be made whole.” It kept her going towards what she desired in her heart - healing. If she had gotten there and just kept saying, “If I can touch him; if I can touch him,” but never touched him, she would not have been made whole. Her faith reached its final expression when she touched Him and released her faith. When she touched Jesus, power went out of Him. Jesus knew it, but He didn’t know who had touched Him because He asked, “Who touched me?” He was looking around because He wanted to know who was in faith. His disciples were perplexed and said, “Everyone is touching you.” Make note that an action done that is not in faith is not sufficient to receive from the Lord. Copying what others do by faith will not bring your answer. Following someone else’s testimony without the same faith they had will not get you the answer. Trying it will not work. This woman did not try this. She believed it. As she was going and speaking to herself, she wasn’t working herself up. She believed it. This belief caused her to go, and it caused her to push through the crowd to her answer. She would not be denied. She touched Him and was on her way. She didn’t need or want anyone to know. She obviously didn’t even want Jesus to find out. She got what she came for and was heading home healed, but Jesus wanted to know who actually had faith among this crowd. Faith so impressed the Lord; it so pleased Him that He stopped even though He was on His way to heal Jairus’ daughter. You and I have faith too, so let’s exercise it like this woman did.
