CROWN LAID UP FOR YOU

2 Timothy 4:7–8 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.”

There is for sure a crown available to every born-again believer, but how do you get it? Paul just told us, by the Holy Ghost, “I have finished my course.” So, finishing the course God gave you must be a key to receiving a crown.

How did Paul finish his course? He finished it by keeping the faith. He used faith to receive serving grace to do what he was called to do. He preached to the Gentiles, wrote the letters, and used grace and faith to fight off the devil everywhere he went.

To finish your course, you must also fight. Therefore, it must not be automatic, but challenging, to finish your course. You and I are not Paul and are in no way going to face what he did, but we have our own demons to fight and our own battles to win. To get to your crown at the Judgment Seat of Christ, you are going to have to fight and keep the faith in order to finish your race and receive your crown(s).

We can all do it by grace through faith. We can all do it if we just don’t quit. We can all do it because we can all walk by faith and not by sight. Determine in your heart that you will hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” and that you will finish your course with joy
