Walk Not as Other Gentiles Walk

Ephesians 4:17 “This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind,”

There is a call from the Holy Spirit to us to leave behind the way we used to live, walk, and talk. We used to walk according to the lust of our flesh and the desires of our flesh. We used to have a different nature.

Paul even told the Corinthian church he could only address them as mere men. What does that mean? It means they were carnal; they were acting out of the old man, not the new man recreated in Christ Jesus.

If someone is not born again, they have no choice but to operate out of their flesh and to follow the nature of the devil. You and I have a choice; we can walk in the spirit and produce the fruit of the spirit, or we can walk in the flesh, or as other Gentiles walk, and produce the lust of the flesh.

Romans Chapter 8 teaches us very clearly the difference between the results of the spirit walk and the flesh, or walking as other Gentiles walk. What you produce depends on what walk you yield to. Carnality produces death, whereas the spirit walk produces life and peace.

Walking as the old man, you can never please God; but walking in the newness of life and in the spirit will always please God. How are you going to walk?
