Soil – In the Midst of Your Heart

Proverbs 4:21 “Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.”

In order for the Word of God to be in the midst of your heart, you have to put it there. The Word of God comes in seed form, and there are gates to your heart, or soil. You choose what goes into your gates and, therefore, what goes into your heart, or soil.

We have already mentioned two of the three gates in the two previous days this week. The gates are the ear gate, the eye gate, and the mouth gate. These gates allow the seed of the Word of God into your heart. These gates can also allow weeds (the things of this world) that choke out the Word of God.

Your heart is the center of you, the kardia. Your spirit is contained in your heart—not the physical organ, but the center of your being. Whatever is in the midst of your heart is what you will produce in your life.
