21 Days of Prayer
A new year is a fresh invitation to fix our eyes on Jesus.
As we step into this next season, we’re setting aside 21 Days of Prayer to realign our hearts, quiet the noise, and make more room for His presence. This is a space to lay some things down, surrender what we’ve been carrying, and give intentional time back to the One who leads us.
Over these 21 days, we’re believing the Holy Spirit will bring clarity, direction, and answers in the places we’ve been asking, seeking, and knocking. You don’t have to do this alone—our church family is walking this journey together, in unity, with hearts open and expectation high.
Whether you’re new to prayer or have been following Jesus for years, you’re invited to lean in, seek Him first, and let these days shape the rhythm of your year.
fasting & 21 days of prayer
What is fasting?
This first pre-launch teaching welcomes the church into 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting, centered on the theme “Eyes on Jesus” from Hebrews 12:1–2. Fasting is described as a powerful spiritual tool that helps us realign our hearts with God’s heart, lay down what is temporary, and seek Him for wisdom, guidance, and breakthrough. At its simplest, fasting is abstaining from food (and sometimes certain foods or even water for a time) in order to turn our attention more fully toward God, sowing to the Spirit instead of the flesh and creating space to be with Him and receive from Him.
Why do christians fast?
Jesus doesn’t say “if” you fast but “when” you fast. Fasting is a normal spiritual discipline for every believer—a way to lay down food and turn our attention toward God so we can grow closer to Him, hear His voice, and see Him move in specific areas of our lives.
What is a biblical fast?
Biblical fasting is voluntarily laying down food for spiritual purposes. It’s less about the “rules” and more about a heart turned toward God—replacing meals with moments in prayer, Scripture, and worship so our focus shifts from what we’re consuming to the One we’re seeking.
how do i fast?
Fasting shows up all through the Bible, and there are different ways to walk it out: complete fasts (only water), partial fasts (skipping certain meals or times of day), and selective fasts (avoiding specific foods). Some also choose to abstain from certain activities for a season. The goal in all of it: make intentional room to seek God.
Types of fasting
The Bible gives many examples of fasts with different lengths and purposes—1 day, 3 days, 7 days, 10 days, 14 days, 21 days, and 40 days. Each served a specific purpose: seeking direction, comfort, protection, wisdom, or breakthrough. You’re not being forced into a formula; you’re being invited to choose, with God, what your fast will look like.
Goals in fasting
Fasting is a spiritual discipline Jesus expects His followers to practice—not to twist God’s arm, but to position our hearts. As we fast, we draw closer to God, pursue spiritual breakthroughs, cultivate discipline, seek healing and restoration, and realign with His will. It’s not about perfection; it’s about purpose, grace, and walking together in unity.
